    ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

Tim Sheehy, Global Director of Genomics, Promega Corporation

Tim Sheehy is the Global Director of Genomics for Promega Corporation. Before joining Promega, Tim worked for SAIC at Ft Detrick, Frederick, MD where he managed the NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology & Genetics’ DNA Extraction and Staging Lab (DESL). It was in this environment where Tim streamlined processes, integrated automated systems, and unified workflows to increase sample throughput while returning substantial cost efficiencies. By coupling open architecture robotics platforms with off the shelf chemistries DESL has contributed to an increase in the throughput of NCI funded research studies. Promega has taken this type of workflow approach to provide its technologies in a customized manner to meet the individual customer’s needs and this type of approach is already being adopted by biorepository facilities worldwide.

Prior to his work with NCI, Tim had over 20 years of clinical experience in the academia and industry.
