Translating Pre-clinical Markers to Validated Assays and Their Application to Clinical Trials for the Pharma Industry |
Speakers for this Event:
Dr. Peter Kerr, Product Development Team Manager, Almac
Dr. Stephen Moore, Product Development Team Manager, Almac

The development of personalized medicine is heavily dependant on the successful translation of biomarkers from bench to clinic. The pharma industry today is now routinely investing in biomarker strategies alongside their new compounds. The translation of these markers into clinically applicable tests and their use in clinical trials is a complex process.
This presentation will give examples of how Almac has done this, covering a range of topics including:
- Migration of assays across tissue types
- Migration of assays across platforms
- Development of assays into tests
- Biomarker clinical trial management
- Sample collection logistics
Details will be provided on the whole product development process with case studies highlighting the application of the developed tests for both retrospective and prospective analysis of samples from clinical trials. Examples will be shown of how this trial management and test delivery has been used to stratify and enrich early phase clinical trials.
