  • Invest in Spain: Business Opportunities in the Spanish Renewable Energy Sector

This seminar will focus on the Renewable Energy sector in Spain and the investment opportunities it offers to foreign companies. Thus, we will analyse the current situation and future trends of the sector, highlighting its main competitive advantages.

Although we will give an overview to all main renewable sectors, the seminar will focus on two of the strongest nowadays: Wind Power and Concentrating Solar Power. Attendees will have the chance to listen to first hand experiences from the main Spanish associations and multinational companies already established in Spain, who will give their view on the suitability of Spain for their different strategies, covering topics such as:

    - Main players and technologies

    - Added value activities in Spain

    - International market outlook, collaboration opportunities

    - Relations with other markets

Important facts make Spain one of the most attractive countries worldwide for investment projects in renewable energies:

    - Spain is far more energy dependant than other European country: 78.4% in comparison to the EU-27 average (53,8%).

    - Favourable framework: according to the objectives established by the EU for 2020 (20% of final energy consumption produced by Renewables), the Spanish government set up the “Plan for Renewable Energies. PER” supporting the development of all renewable technologies. At the end of 2008 final energy covered by Renewables was about 7,6 % of the total so the growing potential of Renewables in Spain is still extraordinary.

    - Industrial and technological cluster: Spanish companies and technological centres for renewables are highly experienced and known worldwide, offering foreign investors total confidence and a huge range of services for setting up in Spain.

    - Advanced national electricity grid system and much experience in the connection of renewable installations.

    - Excellent international hub to do business with North Africa, Middle East and Latin America.

Some figures about Renewables in Spain:

    - 3rd World producer in Wind Power
    - 4th World producer in PV Solar power and second in Europe.
    - 4th biogas producer in Europe and the 5th in biomass.

This webinar is addressed to CEOs, VPs, Business Development, Operations and Strategy Managers from foreign enterprises seeking to set up or expand their business in Spain.
