    ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

    Andrés García, Investor Services Manager, INVEST IN SPAIN  

    Andres Garcia is Investor Services Manager at Invest in Spain, the Spanish Inward Investment Promotion Agency, part of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade. He is an expert in the ICT Sector, dealing with foreign companies investing in this industry.

     

    Graduated in Telecommunications and Information Systems from the University of Valladolid, Spain, including a final year researching at the Institute for Biomedical Technologies in Dresden, Germany. Prior to his current position at Invest in Spain, he worked at IBM Global Business Services within the Telecom Industry in several projects for blue-chip clients, including Telefónica and France Telecom. Before that, he was in charge of the ICT department at the Spanish Trade Commission in Düsseldorf, Germany, and at the Foreign Affairs Office of the University of Valladolid.

    Marcos Jiménez, CEO of Europe, Softtek  

    Marcos Jimenez is currently CEO of Softtek Europe and member of the organization’s Executive Board. He has formed part of Softtek USA for 17 years, assuming various positions, such as key entrepreneur for Softtek in Peru, the U.S., Spain, and the U.K. Since 2004, he has been responsible for Sales and Marketing of Softtek USA, the market in which he nearly doubled the company’s profitability.

     

    Jimenez started his path as an analyst programmer in the first pension funds project that Sofftek sold. Since his inclusion, he has perceived Softtek as a unique organization, and what impacted him most was how its philosophy took into consideration, among its objectives, to help people know and understand themselves. Thus, that year he became a member of the Banks unit and later undertook the opening of Softtek in Peru. This enterprising effort provoked a domino effect in his professional career.

     

    Marcos obtained his B.A. in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.

     

    With regard to the global crisis, Marcos comments, “We have a great challenge to face based on the global and local economic changes. However, I am sure that they will make us stronger.” He added, “Now is when [Softtek’s] obstinacy, persistence, and positive vision for the future have to push us towards an important growth as a company and as people.”

    Víctor Martínez, Deputy General Manager, NEC Ibérica  

    Victor Martinez joined NEC in January 2000. Since then he has been serving in different areas of the company where helped to develop the presence and potentiality of the company in the Spanish market.

     

    He served as, amongst others, Technical Manager, Operations Manager, Director of 3G Division and is currently responsible of Marketing and Sales as Deputy General Manager in charge of expanding NEC’s presence across the Spanish territory. Prior to NEC, he worked at Alcatel and co-founded an ICT company as entrepreneur.

     

    Victor Martinez holds a bachelor degree in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid and MBA from IE (Instituto de Empresa).

    Inma Rodríguez Serrano, Vice President Madrid R&D Center, Ericsson

    Inma Rodríguez is currently Madrid R&D Site Manager & Head of the Packet Core activities in Madrid. Before joining Ericsson, Inma Rodríguez worked for Telefónica at the Network Planning Department. In 1998 Inma started as a Solution Consultant in Ericsson Sweden. She came back to Ericsson Spain in 2000 to work for the Market Unit Iberia as Manager of IP Infrastructure. In 2005 she joined Madrid R&D Center, where she has been manager in different units and PDUs (Product Development of User Databases).

     

    Inma obtained her M.S. degree in Telecommunications from the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid.

     

    She likes new challenges and puts a lot of energy in what she does, trying to get all the team working towards clear goals. Her motto in life is enjoy what you do and learn from the people you meet. Her professional goal is to support the R&D site to deliver on time, with quality and to be recognized as technology leaders in our responsibility areas within the Ericsson community.

    María José Aguado, Director of Processes and Commercial Efficiency, Telefónica España  

    María José Aguado joined Telefónica in 1989, and she has developed her professional telecommunications career assuming various positions in different countries and business units of Telefónica.

     

    She started at Telefónica Research and Development as Marketing Manager of Interactive Systems, being responsible for new business development of Telefónica at the areas of data services, Internet services, ADSL, IP networks, Digital TV, and mobile services and contents.  In the year 1999 she was appointed Deputy General Manager of Product Design at Telefónica Móviles, Chief Marketing Officer of Terra Mobile in 2000, and Director of Project Management and Innovation at Telefónica España in 2002, during this period she was also responsible for the elaboration of the business and marketing plan for the mobile operations of China Netcom at Telefónica China. In 2008 she joined the strategy department of Telefónica España as Director of Processes and Commercial Efficiency.

     

    María José has a degree in physics, specializing in electronics, from the University of Cantabria, a master in Commercial Administration from ICADE (Comillas Pontifical University), and a degree from IESE Business School in the General Management Program.
