Tony Barone is Director of Global Logistics Policy at Pfizer, a position he has held since 2004. In this capacity he develops policy positions in strategic trade matters and international logistics. He is a member of Pfizer’s Global Logistics Leadership Team which has oversight over Pfizer’s worldwide physical distribution related activities and chairs Global Logistics Innovation Team. Tony also chairs the company’s customs governance committee. He joined Pfizer as Director\Team Leader of US Import\Export Logistics. Before joining Pfizer in 2001 he had a diverse seven year career in private practice as a management consultant in logistics and trade finance and fifteen years in senior roles in the third party logistics industry providing global air, sea and expedited surface transportation, customs and distribution services to airlines and shippers.
Tony was appointed to the Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), a federal advisory commission act appointment, by DHS Secretary Ridge in January 2005 and reappointed by Secretaries Chertoff and Paulson in January 2007.. He was appointed to the US Department Of Commerce District Export Council for the State of New Jersey by Secretary John Snow in 2003. He is a member of the board directors of the American Exporters & Importers Association and founder and chair emeritus of the Health Industries Committee at AAEI. He is also a member of the Sea Transport and Customs Committees of the US Council for International Business, the Joint Industry Group, INTERCEPT, the ICC Consultative Advisory Group, and the Council of Supply Chain Management. Tony is co-author of "International Logistics” published by Chapman & Hall in 1995. He is a graduate of Columbia University with an MBA in Management from Fairleigh Dickinson. | |
