The SEC has been testing XBRL format and the underlying technology for over 2 years via a Voluntary Filing Program (VFP). All indicators strongly point towards an eventual SEC mandate for companies to file using XBRL technologies.
The ramifications of this requirement are unknown to many companies. Companies are looking for succinct and cogent answers to such questions as:
- Is this really imminent?
- What does XBRL do for me?
- What do I have to do to prepare and comply?
In this event, we look to answer those and other questions you may have.
We will begin with Uma Iyer of Deliotte & Touche giving a practical overview of what XBRL is and what it means to companies.
Following Deloitte, David Blaszkowsky of the SEC will present the current status of XBRL with the SEC.
As a lead participant in the XBRL filing program, Jennifer Martell of Adobe Systems will share their actual experiences in filing in XBRL with the SEC.
Following Adobe Systems, Mark Bolgiano, President & CEO of XBRL-US, will review how his organization is helping companies stay abreast of compliance with the latest taxonomies, preparer's guides, etc.
Jay Chandran, a partner in SimpleX Data Technologies who has supported Adobe through their process, will be in attendance to answer questions and provide follow-up for companies on resources out there to help in their process.
After each session, time is allotted to field various questions that attendees might have. We welcome you to join us in making this an informative and productive session.
